Organic Amaranth is a sweet, earthy and gluten-free seed. It is extremely high in protein, iron, and fibre.
Amaranth is often used as an alternative to rice. It can be cooked into stir fries, soups & stews or heated until turned into miniature puffs (like tiny popcorn).
To cook: Rinse first and then bring 1 1/2 cups water to a boil, add 1/2 cup amaranth stirring frequently, and simmer 20-25 minutes or until at desired texture.
